摘要与影响
Female friendship films have been the subject of scholarship and popular press interest in recent years. The popularity of films such as Bridesmaids and The Heat have witnessed a new form of comedy film in which female characters occupy the character dynamics and immature humor previously associated with male‐centered bromance films. This entry outlines some of the thematic concerns of female friendship films and extrapolates how themes from gender‐swapped media texts can contribute to discussions of female friendship on film.
