摘要与影响
Reconfigurable chiral radiation with simultaneous frequency and polarization dynamic control remains a persistent challenge, as it demands co‐tuning of resonance frequency and material chirality. Origami, an ancient yet ever‐evolving art, has emerged as a powerful approach for reconfigurable EM wave manipulation, owing to its lightweight structure and versatile geometric transformations. Inspired by the origami principle, a reconfigurable metasurface is proposed for chiral radiation whose polarization state can be switched between linear and opposite‐handed circular polarizations, alongside dynamic control of operating frequency, by mechanically transforming a 2D planar structure into a 3D folded form. The deformation of the meta‐atom induces net electric and magnetic dipoles of split‐ring resonators (SRRs) parallel or anti‐parallel to each other, leading to the spin‐selective responses. Building upon this concept, a folded reflectarray antenna (FRA) based on the origami polarization conversion metasurface (OriPCM) is further proposed, enabling simultaneous tuning of both polarization and operational frequency. The proposed OriPCM‐FRA achieves a peak gain of 23.7 dBi and allows dynamic adjustment of 3‐dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth from 8.95 to 9.8 GHz, supporting both linear and dual‐sense circular polarizations. The proposed origami‐based metasurface demonstrates a viable strategy for integrating structural reconfiguration, paving the way for next‐generation adaptive metadevices.
