Both burn rate, u (mm s −1 ) and mass consumption rate, $\rm{\dot m }$ (g s −1 cm −2 ) of fuel rich magnesium/Teflon/Viton ® (MTV) (45/50/5) upon addition of silicon/ferric oxide for part of the PTFE decrease by 16 and 11%, respectively. However, the spectral efficiency E β (J g −1 sr −1 ) increases by 24% in the 3–5 μm band.
