To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Nelle Harper Lee was born on 26 April 1926 in Monroeville, Alabama, which is most certainly the Maycomb of the novel. She was the youngest daughter of a lawyer and began to write early in childhood while she was attending local schools. Her satirical presentation of education in the novel suggests that she found much to criticise there.
