From Clicks to Compassion: Social Media Use Significantly Drives Altruistic Living Organ Donations in Liver and Kidney Transplantation

history of transplants in the world and Mexico (room 2), the process of organ donation (room 3), myths and realities (room 3a), the global observatory in organ donation and transplantation (room 3b) and a tribute to donors (room 4).Agreements for formal and regular visits were signed with educational institutions and companies for students and workers.Before and after the tour, a survey on the level of knowledge about donation and their willingness to become organ donors was conducted.Results: Four months after opening, 437 people attended, 58% were women, 42% men, average age 28.1 years.Sixty percent of attendees reported having a certain level of knowledge about donation; 100% of visitors commented that they had no expectations of what to see and received during the visit but at the end of the tour, all of them commented they learned more about donation and their conviction to become organ donors were reinforced.Conclusions: We believe the museum is an appropriate and reproductible promotion strategy to raise awareness in favor of organ donation.After the visit, all the guests expressed their favor about organ donation; also, commented the way in which the place is organized makes more interactive and understandable the information about organ donation than a lecture in an auditorium or a classroom.Finally, 7% of the visitors with a previous no interest in organ donation, changed their opinion in favor of a donation, 97 % decided to sign up personal card that identified themselves as organ donors and 15% asked for volunter in the museum.
