摘要与影响
Rotating detonation engines (RDE) offer a promising leap in thermal efficiency compared to conventional Brayton-based reaction engines. Over the past half-century, RDE technology has garnered increasing interest, particularly in the last two decades with notable advancements in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and control systems. This article provides a review of the RDE fundamentals, advantages, challenges, and the latest advancements in experimental and numerical setups used to reach the development of a commercially feasible engine. This work aims to elucidate the requisites imperative for advancing the implementation of RDE technology in an industry and context striving to decarbonize.
