摘要与影响
Between 26 and July 28, 2024, extreme rainfall from Typhoon Gaemi triggered an event of catastrophic widespread landslides in Zixing, Hunan Province, China, causing substantial casualties and infrastructure damage. Based on pre- and post-event high-resolution PlanetScope satellite imagery, a comprehensive landslide inventory for this event was established through systematic visual interpretation. The results show that a total of 23,513 landslides were induced, affecting a total area of 21.64 km 2 . These landslides exhibit a pronounced spatial clustering. This high-resolution inventory represents the first systematic record of the geomorphic response to this extreme rainfall event and provides critical baseline data for subsequent hazard mechanism analysis, risk assessment, and disaster mitigation efforts.
