摘要与影响
This study is the first time to develop a novel technique for enhancing 65Mn wear resistance, namely the ECAP process, which is applied to 65Mn to investigate wear attributes. In this investigation, 65Mn steel was successfully processed using the ECAP method at 950 K. Following the experimental studies, the optical microscope and Quanta 200 scanning electron microscope were used to examine the microstructural evolution of damaged and annealed materials. A multi-function wear tester with the ability to perform reciprocating tests and a microhardness tester were also used to evaluate the influence of ECAP on the mechanical and tribological properties of 65Mn steel. The experimental findings showed that after four passes of ECAP, the mold's 90-degree inner contact angle produced equiaxed tiny grains with a size of 0.3 μm. As a result, the Vickers hardness of the equal channel angular pressing specimen rose by 34% after four passes of ECAP compared to the preceding pressing specimen. The average friction coefficient was lowered from 1.047 to 0.42 after four passes of ECAP. After four passes of ECAP, the wear resistance of the equal-channel angular pressing specimen increased. Thus, the equal channel angular pressing procedure can polish the initial coarse grains of 65Mn and improve its wear resistance.
