Functionalized Ni( ii ) dithiocarbamate complexes act as pre-catalysts for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in 1.0 M KOH and active catalyst, Ni(O)OH produces a current density of 10 mA cm −2 at an overpotential of 330 mV.
