-acetyl-D-glucosamine (NAG), D-glucosamine, chitosan, and chitin) into key platform chemicals, mainly including furans, amino/amide sugars, organic acids and amino/amide acids. Catalytic strategies and production pathways are detailed, and current challenges and future research directions in chitin valorization are discussed.
