摘要与影响
This qualitative phenomenological study explores the lived experiences of women with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Fifteen participants were recruited from Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), a tertiary care hospital in Srinagar, India. Analysis revealed four themes: physical and emotional struggles; navigating interpersonal and social relationships; coping mechanisms and support systems; and the impact on career and daily activities. The findings show that PCOS profoundly affects women’s physical, mental, and social wellbeing, influencing participation in social and occupational roles. The study highlights gaps in current management frameworks and calls for holistic, multidisciplinary approaches to improve quality of life.
