Design of Dual-link Shared GRE over IPSec VPN on P2MP Networks

Communications between the enterprise head office and multiple branches are usually carried on public networks, or open and insecure communication environments such as satellite channels, which can rely on IPSec VPN to achieve secure communication and constitute an IPSec P2MP network. Most of the time, in order to improve the reliability of the communication, the head office communicates with each branch using double links. In this paper, we propose an innovative design of dual-link shared GRE over IPSec VPN on P2MP network to provide a secure channel for unicast and multicast data transmission for both two-direction and one-direction communication between the head office and branch offices.
