To apply previously developed battery-storage-based black start strategies to a full-scale test bench, a method to emulate the storage system through an existing back-to-back power hardware converter platform has been developed. The successful transfer of the grid-forming control and the correct behavior of the implemented battery model was observed throughout the full black start process of the microgrid.
