Surface modification of Li3InCl6 provides superior electrochemical performance for lithium-rich manganese-based cathode materials

In this paper, Li3InCl6 (LIC) coatings were prepared on the surface of Li[Formula: see text]Mn[Formula: see text]Co[Formula: see text]Ni[Formula: see text]O2 (LMRO) particles using a liquid phase method. Compared with 0LIC@LMRO, 2LIC@LMRO exhibits better electrochemical performance. After 150 cycles at 1C, the capacity retention rate of 2LIC@LMRO (87.31%) was 6.03% higher than that of 0LIC@LMRO (81.28%). This paper provides new references for promoting the commercialization of LMRO.
