This study systematically evaluated the performance of mechanical seal friction rings using a comprehensive evaluation method that combines the bispectral entropy characteristic index analysis of acoustic emission (AE) signals, friction torque measurement, and microstructure measurement. An experimental study was conducted to assess the performance of mechanical seal face friction subproperties while comprehensively considering the medium pressure and rotational speed. Results revealed the effectiveness of end face grooving and coating technology in improving friction performance. The experimental results showed that SiC (DLC)–C had a lower mixed lubrication (ML) friction coefficient, whereas SiC (Groove)–C had better wear resistance due to a more substantial fluid dynamic pressure effect.
