摘要与影响
This chapter offers strategies for achieving greater digital government maturity and highlights the importance of looking towards the future. Leadership plays a crucial role in driving digital transformation in the public sector. Effective leadership is necessary to create a vision for digital transformation, to mobilize resources and support and to overcome barriers and obstacles to change. Digital talent and skills are becoming increasingly important in the public sector as governments around the world seek to modernize and digitize their operations. Associated with the challenges of developing a future-fit workforce is the need to overcome cultural and organizational barriers to change. Data has become increasingly central to the digital transformation of governments around the world, and a growing number of governments are adopting whole-of-government data strategies. Governments are becoming increasingly sophisticated in the publication of open government data and the opportunities available to private sector and third-sector actors to unlock the public value these datasets contain.
