摘要与影响
Molybdenum disulfide https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> MoS 2 is a two-dimensional (2D) dichalcogenide material that has properties similar to those of graphene. Recently, it has gained significant attention from researchers due to its unique electrical, optical, and mechanical characteristics, leading to applications in solar cells, photodetectors, light-emitting diodes (LEDs), supercapacitors, chemical sensors, mechanical lubricants, etc. The transformation from an indirect to a direct energy bandgap of 1.8 eV in its 2D monolayer form, compared to bulk, makes it a suitable candidate for optoelectronic devices and enables the development of ultrathin devices at the nanoscale. Moreover, owing to its high work function, the https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> MoS 2 thin layer enables efficient electron flow by aligning energy bands, thereby reducing surface recombination and improving carrier transport in both organic and inorganic solar cells. The chapter begins with an introduction to https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> MoS 2 material, its basic properties, and its various applications, such as in photovoltaics, chemical sensors, LEDs, and supercapacitors. Subsequently, the properties of https://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"> MoS 2 , such as its crystal structure and the origin of its optoelectronic properties, are discussed using the energy band structure.
