Media Empowerment Perspective: An Analysis of Intergenerational Elderly Care Practices through Smart Surveillance

随着社会保障体系的逐渐完善，国内老年人的平均寿命正在升高，加速社会的发展，中青年人口流动大趋势依然是由农村向城市移动，在这种背景下，老人留守家中依旧是一个需要妥善解决的问题。由于中老年群体进入短视频开创了银发赛道，也有不少人在短视频平台分享家庭监控记录下来的美好经历，用户在观看后产生了一系列的共鸣。本文基于媒介赋能的视角，以智能监控类短视频为例，通过分析视频特点，总结技术发展对于代际养老的助力，以及对于社会关注空巢老人现象的具体影响。结果发现，家用监控的普遍使用虽然在一定程度上缓解了父辈与子孙辈分离的情绪，但技术的双面性也带来一些新的挑战，本文旨在分析案例为如何合理使用媒介规避风险提出优化路径。 With the gradual improvement of the social security system, the average life expectancy of the elderly in China is increasing, accelerating societal development. The overarching trend of working-age population migration continues to flow from rural to urban areas, the issue of elderly individuals being left behind at home remains a problem requiring proper resolution. As middle-aged and older adults have entered the short-video sphere, creating the “silver-haired” content niche, many users have begun sharing heartwarming moments captured by home surveillance cameras on short-video platforms, eliciting widespread resonance among viewers. From the perspective of media empowerment and using smart surveillance short videos as a case study, this paper analyzes the characteristics of such videos to summarize how technological advancements facilitate intergenerational elderly care and their specific impact on societal attention toward the empty-nest elderly phenomenon.
