Generative AI in health sciences education and practice. Part 4: career development

This fourth article in a series on generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) in the health and medical sciences examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can support career development. It focuses on two distinct areas. The first is the growing importance of AI literacy in healthcare, and the way in which developing AI knowledge, skills and confidence can improve employability. The second is the way in which AI can be used to support the process of career development – identifying suitable roles, checking application materials such as CVs and cover letters, and practising for interviews. The article gives practical suggestions for using common Gen AI chatbots like ChatGPT to support these activities.
