云南金宝山超镁铁岩体蛇纹石化橄榄岩及斜长角闪石岩的锆石 SHRIMP 年龄分别为(260.6 ± 3.5)和(260.7 ± 5.6) Ma, 反映金宝山超镁铁岩体的形成年龄在260 Ma 左右, 与峨眉山大火成岩省其他镁铁-超镁铁岩体的SHRIMP年龄一致并与峨眉山玄武岩同期, 从年代学上界定了金宝山岩体为峨眉山大火成岩省岩浆活动的产物, 支持峨眉山大火成岩省主要岩浆活动时间发生在260 Ma左右.
