<p indent="0mm">Surface acoustic waves (SAWs) have emerged as one of the crucial methods for regulating magnetization dynamics, thanks to their unique advantages such as lower transmission loss, easier integration, and nearly zero Joule heating loss. Based on the magnetoelastic coupling model of acousto-magnetic interaction, this review elaborates on the effect of SAWs on magnetic moments and proposes a model for SAW-assisted/driven magnetization dynamics, while also outlining other acousto-magnetic coupling mechanisms. Combined with relevant domestic and international simulation and experimental work, we review the typical influence of SAW on magnetization dynamics—including static and dynamic processes such as assisting magnetization reversal, affecting exchange bias, aiding magnetic phase transitions, driving ferromagnetic resonance, inducing acoustic voltage generation, causing nonreciprocal transmission, and assisting in the generation and driving of various magnetic structures. Furthermore, we systematically sort out the research routes while clarifying the underlying physical mechanisms. This review is of great significance for a comprehensive understanding of the research directions and the latest progress in SAW-driven magnetization dynamics, and provides theoretical support and technical guidance for subsequent related basic research and device design.
