Study on Subtitle Translation of Introductory Video for Memorial Halls from the Perspective of Cross-cultural Communication

Jiangxi Province possesses rich red cultural heritage and has built up many memorial halls accordingly. As a new media communication method with good efficacy in publicity, bilingual introductory videos of memorial halls have also received positive feedback. In recent years, Chinese culture has received widespread attention from countries around the world. Jiangxi's red culture with Chinese characteristics should also be widely spread and achieve better cross-cultural communication effects in the trend of Chinese culture going global. In order to explore and enhance the cross-cultural communication of Jiangxi’s red cultural memorial halls, this paper selects an introductory video of the August 1st Uprising Memorial Hall as the research object. Combined with cross-cultural communica-tion and linguistic transformation, a theoretical framework is constructed to study C-E subtitle translation from the perspective of cross-cultural communication. Through parallel text comparison, the characteristics and skills of translation in this field are explored, and suggestions for improvement are proposed for the external communication of Jiangxi’s red cultural relics.
