Curriculum integration advocates speak of the numerous advantages of integration in helping students form deeper understandings, see big-picture concepts, make curriculum relevant to students, build connections among central concepts, and become interested and motivated in school (Berlin, 1994; Berlin & White, 2012; George, 1996; Mason, 1996; Morrison & McDuffi e, 2009; Venville, Rennie, & Wallace, 2004). Additionally, with the rapid growth of technological tools that can be utilized in the classroom, there is increased desire internationally to integrate technology within science education (Harrison, 2011; Jimoyiannis, 2010; Johnson & Saylor, 2013).
