摘要与影响
This chapter clarifies the concept of “boundaries vision”, the central theory of this book, from the context of existing research in the strategic management field. In particular, the chapter further explores the relationship with sensing in “dynamic capabilities” (e.g., Teece, 2007, 2014), the core framework of strategic management, from the theoretical, empirical and practical points of view. Then, from a range of existing research, and in contrast to the existing research on “peripheral vision” (Day and Schoemaker, 2016), the chapter presents the proposition that “sensing through boundaries vision” raises the creativity of practitioners, organizations and corporations. The chapter also clarifies the mechanisms of the sub-capabilities of “sensing through boundaries vision”, “seizing through asset orchestration architecture”, “transforming through asset orchestration dynamics” in the framework of the “dynamic capabilities” of corporations (organizations). Then, the chapter presents a theory that these three sub-capabilities drive dynamic capabilities, and promote the dynamic re-configuration of the corporate (or organizational) boundaries.
